Fun with Felt

More mommy-related artwork ;) These are some felt puppets I made for/with my kids. I actually made the Sesame Street puppets last February (almost a year ago!) as favors for my son Dax's birthday party. I just did some reductive drawings of the characters for those, cut 'em out, and bam--puppets.
The creatures on the top are some "silly monsters" I made over the last couple days with my son Dax and his friend Cadence. We made them because Dax was misbehaving, so I took away his t.v. privileges for the day. So what do you do when there's no shows to watch? You make silly monsters!

Gambit

Here is Xander as the X-men's Gambit. I made everything but the trench coat & gloves on this one. He totally fits the part too! A total super hero kind-of guy if i ever saw one! This costume is basically one solid garment as opposed to the Wolverine costume that I designed in 3 pieces: hoodie/pants/"underwear".

"Woof-ah-een"

If there's one thing my little guy is a natural at, it's being a super hero. For Halloween he picked the X-men's Wolverine. Here is a very rough sketch i did before making the costume to help me figure out how to construct it. I do more planning in my head than I put on paper though. Below the sketch is an action shot of my lil' guy. He rocks.

Gambit & Wolverine Costumes

Alright, alright. Again it's been too long since I've posted. but with my 5-month-old finally down for a nap, and my 2.5 year old occupied for the moment, I can take a minute to finally sit at the computer! Here are a couple of Halloween costumes I made this year for my boys. Gambit and Wolverine. And although they're existing characters, I did draft the patterns, and figure out the costume construction all on my own ;)

So, for the time being, most of my creative endeavors are "mommy"-related, but I'll be working on other stuff to post hopefully sooner than later.
