This is a concept I did of the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz asleep in the cursed field of poppies. Surrounding the lion are the bones of other creatures who suffered the same fate, but had no one to rescue them. The Tinman and the Scarecrow are carrying Dorothy to safety in the distance.

Hey Annie--you came to SJSU with Colin to talk to my VisDev class not too long ago. I have a comment for your lion picture--I love it, love the colors and the composition, but it kindof looks like the lion has eaten the animals whose bones are now around him, and he's so full from his meal that he takes a nap. This was just my first impression, before I read the description of the piece. I really like it, though, as well as all of the stuff in your portfolio and on this here blog :-).
