Apricot Tree

This is a little painting I did for a Maverix Studios Holiday Auction that's coming up on December 2nd .

http://maverixstudios.blogspot.com/

The tree and the border are black fabric that I've sewn onto the piece, and on the back I put a poem that I wrote (that is really a song) that I sing to my little baby. It goes like this:

It's just you and me
underneath the apricot tree

On a summers day
How much sweeter can life be?

The grass in our toes
the breeze is blowing through the leaves

It's just you and me
underneath the apricot tree

...so, one of these days, I'll quit it with all the baby themed art.....but for now, I am totally immersed in it.

Baby Dragon

Yes, it's been forever since I've posted, but it's not for lack of creating stuff ;). I've been doing quite a bit of designing/sewing these past months. I made this baby dragon costume for my 8-month old for halloween. I first sketched it out, and then re-drew it in illustrator for accuracy of proportions/sizing.

Six Weeks

Well, it's been six weeks since this little guy was born. Although I've scarcely had time to do anything but take care of this angel 24/7, I promise, my next post will be artwork.

Dax Alexander Fix

This is a little something I've been working on for the past 9 months. The best collaboration mister Colin Fix and I have ever done. He was born February 22, 2007. 7lbs, 8 oz, 20.25 inches.

Walk the Plank

This piece was inspired by my 5 year-old step son....just a little peek inside the imagination of a child.

HP

I haven't posted for quite a while, so I thought it was time to get back in the game! I've been growing a baby these past 7-8 months, and I must say all those new hormones, and body changes do tend to scatter a girl's brain. I haven't quite been myself, and my creativity and artisitic productivity have suffered for it.
I painted this character sketch for fun after catching up on the latest of my favorite books...Yes, I admit it, I am a huge Harry Potter nerd.
Hopefully my next post will happen much sooner than later.....
